Welcome to MOPROC 2009, welcome to Turku!

The 6th Morphological Processing Conference (MOPROC 2009) will be held in Turku, Finland between the 14th and the 17th of June, 2009, and is organised by the psychology departments of the Turku University and the Åbo Akademi University. The conference aims to bring together scientists that work on all aspects of morphological processing. The conference is intended to provide an opportunity to discuss and explore different aspects of morphological processing, across several languages, language modalities and experimental paradigms. Moreover, researchers working on morphological processing in the context of bilingualism, language acquisition and language disorders are very welcome to participate. The conference will include two poster sessions. Prof. Peter Bryant from the Oxford Brookes University and Prof. Harald Baayen from the University of Alberta will provide the keynote speeches.

In connection to the conference, there will be a special issue of Language and Cognitive Processes on morphological processing. Attendants of MOPROC 2009 get an opportunity to submit a paper on morphological processing to this special issue of LCP. However, attending the conference and submitting a paper does not guarantee its inclusion in the Special Issue, as an independent review process will be followed.

Finally, the conference fee will be 100€ for registrations paid by May 10th (150€ afterwards) and it covers lunches and coffee with refreshments. The welcome reception will be free of charge, sauna evening costs 45€ and conference dinner costs 55€.
